Beautiful shoes for tango dancers and brides
Artisans of elegant designs that stand out on the dancefloor, Turquoise make shoes that are hugely popular across Europe and around the world. Turquoise do not make shoes to order and do not take custom requests. Instead, they operate on a limited edition basis, common with famous tango shoe houses such as Comme il Faut. They make limited runs of each design and renew their collection regularly. This ensures you have a unique look on the dancefloor, but it can be impossible to get exactly the style and colour you want.
Styles & Sizes
If you're looking for Turquoise styles and don't like anything currently in stock in the shop, hop over to Turquoise's website to browse their current collection. Any styles can be ordered through Amy's, with delivery in 1 to 2 weeks. You can filter by your size on the left of their shop screen. Please note they use European sizes - check the size guides if you're not sure of yours. If you're having trouble figuring out your size, you can provide us with measurements of your feet and shoes you currently wear and we will recommend which size to choose.
Most styles have a stiletto heel. Not too thin, not too thick, it is an elegant shape and very comfortable. Occasionally special styles are available with a narrow or broad flared heel. The practice flat lace-ups have a low slightly cuban heel. If you've seen a style on the Turquoise website and the heel height looks different, bear in mind that they measure their shoes at the back of the heel, not the middle, so their standard 7.5cm actually feels 8cm high. Heights on Turquoise shoes also vary with size to maintain the look and balance of the shoe, so a style in a size 4 might have a 7.9cm heel but the same style in a size 7 will be around 8.4cm. There's more about heel heights here.
Turquoise use soft leather or an ultra soft leather-synthetic hybrid. They do not make suede soles. On their website you will see three types mentioned:
Leather - their classic sole in soft pale leather. Excellent floor feel. There is a picture of this type on this page.
Soft Sole - a very smooth pink-beige leather hybrid material. Slightly tacky to the touch, with wear they provide excellent grip and spin.
Semi Soft Sole - similar to the soft sole but a matte beige-grey. Less sticky feel on first use, excellent spin.

What is included in the price?
The above prices include the shoes, shipping from Istanbul and customs fees. Your choice of delivery may be added at checkout and starts at £3.95.
We regularly review our prices to ensure they reflect the current exchange rate appropriately. Prices may go up or down accordingly. They are always competitively set against what you would pay if you ordered directly from Turquoise (including the shipping, overseas purchase transaction fee and customs fees), so you save by ordering through Amy's.
What if I don't like them?
Custom orders cannot be returned as they are ordered especially for you. This is why we make a great effort to get all the details right with you before ordering, to avoid any problems down the line. Although returns are not possible, custom orders can be exchanged for any other pair currently in stock in the Amy's collection. If there is a difference in price, a credit note valid for one year will be issued for the difference.
